Job Description
Our client is a leading investment management firm based in Cape Town. They are known for their long-term investment approach high-performance culture and a technical environment that values pragmatism over rigid dogma. With an IT department of approximately 20 teams they offer a scale that provides significant professional complexity while remaining agile enough for individual contributors to drive departmental change.
Performance Objectives for Year One
- Bespoke Process Design & Buy-In: Within the first 90 days conduct a deep-dive assessment of 1-3 assigned teams. Design and implement a tailored Agile framework (Scrum Kanban or Hybrid) that respects the teams specific delivery needs while achieving 100% buy-in from both the developers and the Product Owner.
- Team Self-Organization: Transition assigned teams toward a self-organized state within the first 6 months. Success is measured by the teams ability to resolve 80% of internal impediments autonomously and a measurable increase in team-led initiatives during retrospectives.
- Metrics & Predictability Engine: Establish a robust delivery metrics suite (including burndown cycle time and predictability metrics) for your teams. By month four provide stakeholders with reliable data-driven delivery forecasts that reduce estimation drift by at least 20%.
- Cross-Departmental Influence: Identify and lead at least two departmental Improvement Themes that impact the broader IT organization beyond your immediate teams focusing on removing systemic bottlenecks in the SDLC.
- Servant Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrate measurable growth in team Agile Fluency through structured 1-on-1 coaching sessions and group workshops moving the team from doing Agile to being Agile.
