Supervises staff to ensure that assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and on a timely basis; reviews agenda reports being submitted to the Board of County Commissioners for quality control.
Researches and makes recommendations regarding legitimacy of sole source/sole brand requests; researches and/or coordinates responses in respect to whistleblower complaints and possible suspension and/or debarment of vendors.
Conducts procurement related training to both purchasing and non-purchasing County staff; reviews drafts and completed work product at various stages; assigns work (Requisitions) to Purchasing Agents.
Performs employee evaluations and assigns goals for upcoming year; approves contracts and purchase orders depending on delegated approval authority.
Actively participates in meetings at various levels regarding potential planned and in progress projects.
Drafts division policies and procedures; provides procurement related direction/recommendations to both purchasing and non-purchasing County staff; benchmarks various division policies and outputs to determine best practices and makes recommendations to top management.

Emergency Management Responsibilities
Note: During emergency conditions all County employees are automatically considered emergency service workers. County employees are subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster such as a hurricane or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties as assigned.
