Job Summary
Our company isexecuting a company-wide ERP system rollout. This rotational internship is designed tomaintainuninterrupted day-to-day business operations while department Subject Matter Experts are fully dedicated to the ERP project (e.g. requirements gathering configuration testing data migration training and Go-Live support).
The intern will notparticipatedirectly in the ERP software implementation configuration testing or training. Instead you will serve as operational backfill handling the routine responsibilities of the Subject Matter Expert in each department during their project involvement. This ensures continuity in critical departmental functions.
Rotations will cycle through key departments as needed for the rollout timeline.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented student or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in maritimelogisticsoperations business process management and cross-functional exposure without involvement in the technical ERP build.
Key Responsibilities
- Departmental Backfill & Operational Coverage (Primary Focus):
- Temporarily assume the daily routine tasks of the assigned departments Subject Matter Expert while they areallocatedto the ERP project.
- Execute core operational duties to prevent any disruption andmaintainaccuracy timeliness and compliance with existing processes and policies.
- Business Continuity Support:
- Monitor and escalate any operational issues that arise during coverage periods.
- Document daily workflows and any deviations to help Subject Matter Experts transition back smoothly.
- Ensure handoffs are seamless when rotating to the next department or when the Subject Matter Expert returns.
- General Administrative & Observational Support:
- Assistwith light administrative tasks related to ongoing operations (e.g. filing data entry basicreporting).
- Observe (but do notparticipatein) ERP-related activities in the department to gain contextual understanding of how processes may evolve post-Go-Live.
- Professional Growth:
- Gain broad exposure to end-to-end maritimelogisticsoperations across multiple functions.
- Receive guidance from Subject Matter Experts on department-specific best practices and tools.
- Build foundational skills in operational efficiency and business continuity during change.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate within 12 months) in Business Administration Supply Chain/Logistics Operations Management Finance Accounting or related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail must handle routine repetitive tasks accurately and independently.
- Reliable and dependable; able to maintain consistent coverage during Subject Matter Expert absences.
- Good communicationskills for coordinating with team members and documenting work.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data handling); familiarity with basic businesssystemsa plus.
- Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
- Ability to work on-site in Sweetwater FL (reliable transportationrequired).
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Prior experience inlogistics shipping office administration or customer service.
- Basic understanding of business processes.
- Interest in learning about ERP systems and digital transformation (observational only).
