The Records Supervisor will be a subject matter expert in the day-to-day operations and functions of records management. The Records Supervisor will lead the transition of all physical files to electronic reducing our physical file footprint and will act as the Department Records Management liaison to continuously develop and improve records management procedures processes and applications. This position will also be responsible for managing the departments main customer service desk and reprographics functions.

We Require
Three years of direct work experience in records management
High school diploma or GED
Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
Three or more years of prior lead or supervisory experience
Bachelors degree in Business Information Technology Records Management or Research
Certified Records Manager (CRM) a Certified Information Professional (CIP) or Information Governance Professional (IGP)
Advanced knowledge and understanding of records management technology and principles
Current knowledge of relevant legal industry practices
Awareness and understanding of current records management technologies and accepted professional standards of records management
Job Contributions
Supervise customer service staff and oversee operations of the customer service entrance for MCDOTs Administration building including management of assigned personnel and related activities such as hiring terminations performance management and training
Facilitate the operations of department programs and/or services develop policies and/or procedures or an area of responsibility
Research and respond to Public Records Requests Legal Holds and Notice of Claims (NOC)
Act as the lead in the design development of Records Management policies and procedures for both physical and electronic files
Develop and deliver training on all facets of records management and conduct departmental orientations
Implement records management best practices and procedures in coordination with the records retention schedules with the intention of continuously improving the records management systems and technologies
Lead the ongoing transition of physical to electronic records within the department providing support on retention destruction and file closing for all types of media
Supervise reprographics/copy center operations
Lead special projects as well as other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally 10 - 25 pounds frequently or up to 10 pounds constantly
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Machines Tools Equipment Software and Hardware
Office machines scanners and copy machines
