Job Description
Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of on-call Direct Support Professional for their residential services division. JCDS serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We focus on individuals abilities provide choice driven supports and advocate alongside people to live and work in our community. We aspire to build a community that promotes supports and embraces people of all abilities. Direct Support Professionals are responsible for the delivery of services with JCDS. First review of candidates will be Thursday February 19 2026.
Job Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent and a valid drivers license and good driving record are required.
Candidate must be able to successfully complete criminal and motor vehiclebackground screenings which includes KDADS required screenings and registry checks.
Preferred Job Requirements:
One year of related experience working in a human services field is preferred.
Education/Experience Substitutions:
Education may be substituted for experience.
Physical Environmental and Special Working Conditions:
Lifting: Up to 50lbs
Exposure to hazardous materials (bodily fluids).
This position will require the use of a personal vehicle to transport clients.
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
