Overview: The Graduate Coordinator for Sexual Assault Prevention reports to one of the Coordinators for Advising and Programming in the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life (DFSL). Duties include programming advising and advocacy work at the intersection of fraternities/sororities and sexual assault prevention.
Position Description: The Graduate Coordinator will coordinate outreach and education for sexual assault prevention within the fraternity/sorority community. The Graduate Coordinator will be responsible for:
Coordinate all Ten Terp Plans (TTPs) within the fraternity and sorority community (marketing outreach facilitator pairing organization etc) in partnership with the Graduate Coordinator for Belonging
Implement and revise the curriculum and assessment protocols for the TTP for Sexual Assault Prevention (TTPSAP);
Recruit supervise and instruct Sexual Violence Prevention Peer Facilitators through 3-credit course HESI318K;
Engage in literature and best practices to update and improve curricula for HESI318K and TTPSAP;
Meet and collaborate with stakeholders and students regarding sexual assault prevention issues and needs;
Serve as the DFSL liaison on the UMD Sexual Assault Prevention Task Force;
Advise and meet regularly with the 4 council Vice Presidents as well as the chapter Sexual Assault Prevention Liaisons to support Sexual Assault Prevention programming and policy efforts;
Organize and present at the Fraternity and Sorority Life Summit in Fall and Spring;
Create and execute sexual assault prevention programs and curriculum for the fraternity and sorority community (such as a bystander intervention consent responding to disclosure etc);
Support the development planning and implementation of student sexual assault prevention programming (e.g. cross-council programs chapter programs);
Evaluate chapter sexual assault prevention programs as part of the DFSL Chapter Expectations Program;
Other duties as assigned by the department.
Remuneration:
Ten hours of tuition credit* per semester (four credits during winter and each summer session) a stipend of atleast $35426 (based on graduate school rates) and the Graduate Coordinator is eligible for enrollment in the faculty/staff health insurance program (*may vary by program).
20% discount at the campus bookstore.
Ten days of paid time away from job responsibilities.
Term: This posting is for the 2026-2027 academic year from July 26 2026 - July 24 2027 or upon graduation or withdrawal from classes. Graduate students seeking to return for additional years must submit an intent to return form prior to being offered a new agreement. Reappointment is contingent upon the staff members continued ability to meet all qualifications successful completion of tasks satisfactory performance evaluations by their supervisor and demonstrated growth in their position. Reappointment is not guaranteed.
