Then the CommonSpirit Health Administrative Fellowship in the People Team is your opportunity!

About the Fellowship:

Elevate your HR career with our immersive 18-month post-graduate program focused on Employment Practices and Labor Relations. Through rotational learning tailored to your interests within the CommonSpirit Health - People pillar youll gain diverse skills and broad exposure to the complexities of managing a large and diverse workforce preparing you to become a future leader in healthcare HR and Employee Relations.

Location: This opportunity will be a hybrid role offering the flexibility of both in-office and remote work. Role will be based near one of our Hospitals in California(San Francisco or Los Angeles) or Las Vegas NV depending on business need and Fellows interests with an anticipated start date in July 2026.

What Youll Do:

  • Meaningful Projects: Lead initiatives that support CommonSpirit Healths goals.
  • Executive Mentorship: Work closely with executive sponsors to guide your rotations.
  • Invest in Your Future: You will be able to customize your professional development through conferences memberships certifications and more through a designated Fellow budget.
  • Skill Development: Hone your management decision-making and change management abilities.
  • Mentorship & Networking: Build relationships with leaders and peers.
  • Hands-On Operations: Gain practical experience in various functional areas.
  • Leadership Opportunities: Take on substantive projects to develop your skills.
  • Diverse Experiences: Gain hands-on experience in employee practices and labor relations through supporting:
    • Collective Bargaining Support: Assist with collective bargaining negotiations.
    • Employee Initiatives: Support system-wide employee programs and initiatives.
    • Sensitive Investigations: Participate in sensitive investigations and case management.
    • Mediation/Arbitration: Assist with cases going to mediation or arbitration.
    • ELR Shadowing: Spend time shadowing an Employee and Labor Relations (ELR) director.

Job Requirements

What Youll Need:

  • Masters Degree in either:
    • Master of Health Administration (MHA)
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
    • Master of Human Resources
    • Or equivalent degree from an accredited graduate program
  • Strongly prefer a Masters degree combined with an undergraduate background in disciplines such as Pre-Law Human Resources or Ethics.
  • Graduation Status: Completion of all on-campus requirements and eligibility to graduate upon fellowship completion
  • Experience: Less than 5 years of professional experience.
  • Graduation Date: Must have graduated with an applicable Masters Degree between Spring 2023-Spring 2027.
  • Excellence: A quick-thinking problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills comfortable with conflict resolution public speaking and willing to proactively address challenges.
  • Commitment: A strong interest in healthcare management and leadership.
  • Passion: A passion for CommonSpirit Healths mission and a commitment to humankindness.
