Job Summary

Job Summary

Provides oversight and administrative support related to the employee benefits health promotion or management programs. Serves as health program liaison coordinating developing implementing evaluating and maximizing employee participation in wellness programs and activities.

Essential Functions

1. Administer health management programs to include but not limited to wellness activities health fairs screening programs lunch and learns activities. Provide monthly reviews of health management programs to ensure alignment with the health program initiatives and strategic goals.
2. Develop open communications with District managers to help promote long and short-term initiatives.
3. Researches and interprets regulations regarding health promotion or management programs and DCPS policy.
4. Supports enrollment functions (new hires open enrollment and educational material).
5. Trains appropriate departmental staff regarding health promotion or management program guidelines and criteria.
6. Serve as liaison to health program coordinators throughout school district to promote awareness of health programs.
7. Conceptualizes develops initiates implements and manages innovative programs and promotions to encourage healthy behaviors attitudes and lifestyles among district employees.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five (5) years health and other benefits administration experience.

Certifications & Licenses: NA

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge of benefits-related laws including Affordable Care Act regulations and HIPAA
Knowledge of benefits administration concepts principles and practices
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to self-funded health plan administration and compliance
Knowledge of benefits expense and liability accounting practices principles and policies
Strong benefits reporting and analysis skills
Strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong word processing spreadsheet and presentation software skills
Strong analytical skills
Ability to monitor performance of assigned programs
Ability to research and analyze employee benefit records reports and data
Ability to compile and interpret statistical data
Ability to exercise good judgment courtesy and tact
Ability to maintain confidentiality
