The Opportunity
South Bow is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Regulated Liquids Commercial & Business Development team reporting to the Director U.S. Commercial and Business this role you will play a critical part in identifying evaluating and advancing new business opportunities supporting ongoing development initiatives and preparing materials for marketing and senior management review. Success requires strong financial modeling capabilities sound commercial judgment and the ability to effectively coordinate internal and external stakeholders. This position is located in Houston Texas United States.
What youll do
Originate develop and execute business development strategies aligned with corporate objectives
Identify prospective customers and partners; lead negotiations and support the preparation of commercial agreements
Perform rigorous economic evaluations and financial modeling to identify value-creation opportunities
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify acquisition targets strategic partnerships and investment opportunities
Analyze industry trends and market data to assess strategic fit risk and growth opportunities
Build financial and valuation models to evaluate deal structure viability and return on investment
Support due diligence efforts including data gathering risk assessment and preparation of materials for senior management
Assist with forecasting budgeting and long-range planning activities
Collaborate cross-functionally with finance legal asset management operations and regulatory teams
Prepare presentations reports and business cases for senior leadership and key stakeholders
Monitor industry developments competitor activity and regulatory changes
Support execution of the companys strategic growth plan
Build and maintain long-term customer and partner relationships
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Economics Engineering or a related field
10 years of experience in commercial business development or related roles
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced financial modeling skills particularly in Microsoft Excel
Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and the MS Office suite
Experience in crude oil transportation or midstream commercial roles
Strong customer focus and commercial judgment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong financial acumen
Working knowledge of FERC and/or CER regulatory frameworks
Have current valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada and US)
Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments meetings or training (estimated up 25% of work schedule)
