Job Opportunity: Daytime Custodian Immediate Opening
Location:Maries County R-I School District Vienna MO
Position Type:Full-Time (12-month contract)
Reports To:Maintenance Director
Job Summary:The Maries County R-I School District is seeking a hardworking reliable and detail-oriented Daytime Custodian to join our team. The primary goal of this position is to maintain a clean sanitary safe and welcoming environment for students staff and visitors during school hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Daily Cleaning & Sanitizing:Clean and disinfect restrooms classrooms cafeterias hallways and locker rooms throughout the day.
- Trash Removal:Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Safety & Maintenance:Respond to immediate cleaning needs (spills bodily fluids) and report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Surface Cleaning:Sweep mop vacuum and buff floors. Clean windows walls and drinking fountains.
- Restocking:Restock dispensers (soap paper towels toilet paper) in all areas.
- Event Support:Set up and break down chairs tables and equipment for school assemblies lunches and evening events.
- Grounds & Entryways:Assist with keeping entrances clean and free of debris including snow/ice removal in winter.
- Security:Secure building entrances as required during the day.
Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read interpret and follow instructions for cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods lift at least 50 lbs and operate cleaning machinery.
- Ability to pass a background check.
