The mission of the South Dakota Department of Social Services is strengthening and supporting individuals and families by promoting cost effective and comprehensive services in connection with our partners that foster independent and healthy families.
This position will assist with various areas within Medical Services Operations including serving as the primary staff member responsible for answering and/or routing emails from the Division Inboxes providing coverage for the Constituent Liaison Line during leave times for the primary employee assisting with processing of claims and assisting with testing of new software and/or applications. The position will also be responsible for other duties and tasks for Medical Services as necessary.

- the ability to represent the Department of Social Services with integrity and enthusiasm.
Knowledge Skills and Ability:
Knowledge of:
- proper business English including grammar spelling and punctuation;
- Microsoft Office programs including Word Excel PowerPoint and Access;
- the different Medicaid claims payment methodologies;
- Medical Assistance programs and eligibility;
- websites and internet navigation.
Ability to:
- effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize tasks to complete assignments;
- communicate in a concise and effective manner;
- read and comprehend written materials;
- maintain department email inboxes and route incoming emails to staff;
- research and compile data;
- establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
This position is eligible for Veterans Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
