Job Summary

Job Summary
The overall purpose of this position is to ensure a good understanding of international and US taxing jurisdictions as it pertains to IEEEs international operations and assist with tax planning for IEEE conferences interpreting and implementing tax solutions that optimize the organizations tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities
The Tax accountant is primarily responsible for:

  • Prepare tax provisions schedules returns payments and reports.
  • Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors
  • Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve the process
  • Make sure that IEEE complies with local tax regulations
  • Coordinate with the respective stakeholders for tax preparation work
  • Accurately prepare tax reports as per the timelines
  • Monitor tax-related changes that affect the organization
  • Makes recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Maintaining and revising procedures for tax processes
  • Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends

    The role reports to a manager level and manages 0 direct reports. This position proactively works under general guidelines by following established procedures but also works under consultative direction.

Additional Responsibilities
Specific duties include but are not limited to: The accurate preparation and timely filing of assigned tax returns:

  • International indirect tax filings for VAT GST JCT etc.
  • Other required statutory reporting includingetc.
  • Supporting the Federal tax team as needed
  • Maintenance and updating of Policies & Procedures
  • Improve efficiency and controls.
  • Complete essential reconciliations
  • Prepare and process tax-related entries.
  • Problem Solving
  • Uniform indirect tax coordination for IEEEs global conference business
  • Monthly administration of the tax transactions
  • Respond accurately and timely to inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Support special projects as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience Bachelors degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance Req

Work Experience

  • 7-10 years experience in Tax or Accounting Req

Skills and Requirements

  • Good in Excel Taxation and Accounting
