The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) supports students throughout the academic lifecycle from admission and enrolment through graduation and beyond. Working closely with schools colleges and autonomous institutes SASD plays a key role in enabling a seamless and enriching student experience.
Within SASD the Student Management Systems (SMS) team oversees the platforms that support core academic and student services including enrolment academic administration co-curricular activities global mobility programmes internships and alumni engagement. The team is leading the rollout of a Next-Generation Student Management System a major system modernisation initiative to strengthen processes and enhance student engagement with the University.
We are seeking an experienced professional to play a key role in supporting system delivery cross-system alignment governance and continuous improvement across the student systems landscape.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director Student Management Systems you will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into system solutions and support the delivery and adoption of student systems. You will contribute across the system lifecycle from requirements and implementation through to stabilisation and ongoing improvement with a focus on ensuring consistency alignment and governance across interconnected student systems.
This role is suitable for candidates with experience in business analysis or enterprise system implementation who are comfortable operating in complex organisational environments and working across multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements
Engage stakeholders to gather validate and translate business requirements into functional specifications and supporting documentation.
Work closely with business users IT teams and project management partners to ensure requirements and solutions are well understood and aligned across related systems.
System Implementation & Delivery Support
Provide business analysis support across system modules and digital platforms that interface with the Student Management System.
Support the sourcing evaluation and implementation of system solutions to ensure they meet business needs and integrate appropriately with upstream and downstream systems.
Support delivery planning activities by contributing to work plans milestones and dependency tracking in collaboration with project managers.
Governance Change & Adoption
Establish and maintain cross-system standards documentation and governance practices to support consistent and effective system use.
Assess change requests with consideration for cross-system impacts dependencies and data consistency and support the implementation and adoption of new or enhanced functionalities.
Support governance forums and processes by providing inputs on system alignment risks and issues across multiple student systems.
Operational Readiness & Sustainability
Support testing validation and post-go-live activities to ensure systems are stable and ready for use across integrated environments.
Support post-go-live stabilisation by coordinating with stakeholders and identifying improvement opportunities spanning multiple systems.
Support analysis of operational issues that have cross-system implications in collaboration with IT teams.
Contribute to audit preparedness through clear documentation and compliance practices.

Requirements:
Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related discipline.
Experience (typically 610 years) in business analysis or enterprise system implementation roles.
Experience working with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear functional specifications and documentation.
Strong written verbal and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working in or with Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs) education-related organisations or government-linked environments would be advantageous.
Experience in supporting system adoption change management or audit readiness.
