About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Baker to join our bakery team. The role involves hands-on preparation and baking of a wide range of bread and bakery products while ensuring quality freshness and efficiency in daily production. Early morning weekend and public holiday shifts may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing mixing and baking bread and bakery products according to established recipes and daily production schedules
Operating and monitoring baking equipment including ovens mixers and provers
Accurately measuring and weighing ingredients to ensure consistent product quality
Monitoring baking processes and adjusting temperatures and baking times as required
Ensuring baked goods meet required standards for taste appearance and freshness
Maintaining strict food safety hygiene and workplace health and safety standards
Assisting with stock control ingredient storage and stock rotation
Cleaning and maintaining bakery equipment and work areas
Requirements
Previous experience working as a baker in a commercial bakery environment
Strong knowledge of baking techniques and food safety standards
Ability to work early mornings weekends and public holidays
Good time management and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physically capable of standing for long periods and performing manual tasks

Required Skills:
AQF Certificate III in Baking or equivalent qualification OR minimum 35 years relevant commercial baking experience At least 2 years post-qualification or equivalent industry experience Proven experience in artisan and commercial bread production Strong understanding of dough fermentation baking processes and quality control Ability to work early mornings weekends and under pressure Reliable punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
