JOB SUMMARY:

The Offshore Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing and coordinating contract administration tasks including expressions of interest estimating tender management procurement programming and stakeholder communication. This role requir email and video conferencing during Australian onshore hours of business operations. The position demands strong written and verbal communication skills negotiation ability and analytical thinking. A sound understanding of Occupational es the incumbent to operate as an extension of the onshore team maintaining seamless communication and collaboration with clients contractors and internal staff via phoneHealth & Safety Environmental Management Quality Assurance Systems and National Construction Code (NCC) is essential. Accuracy attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines of company onshore Australian time zone are critical.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Estimating

  • Review tender documents assess scope risks and complexity

  • If required request site inspections from onshore team for tender understanding analysis of conditions assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the

tender documents.

  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs using company software (software to be confirmed)

  • Source subcontractor and supplier quotations ensuring compliance with tender requirements

  • Compile letters of offer tender schedules and programs for submission

  • Liaise with clients and contractors via phone and email to clarify tender details and negotiate pricing

  • Maintain benchmark data and update estimates based on client feedback

  • Stay informed and up to date with any changes relating to Australian Standards/Regulations

  • Applicable legislations Construction techniques and specifications (RTA council or service authorities)

  • Once tender is completed incorporate all relevant details forward to the Director for review and

approval 24-48 hours prior to tender submission

Communication

  • Actively make and receive phone calls with clients contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth

workflow

  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions maintaining the same standards as onshore

staff.

Programming

  • Prepare and update project schedules using Microsoft Project and Procore Construction

Management

  • CoOrdinate with Project Managers to ensure programming aligns with project requirements General

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in company systems

  • Ensure compliance with OHSE Environmental and Quality Management standards

  • Promote teamwork and uphold company values: Safety Respect Integrity Excellence


Requirements


  • SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the onshore team

    • Strong time management and organisational skills

    • Proficiency in MS Word Excel Outlook and willingness to learn company specific software

    • Familiarity with estimating tools such as Buildsoft Cubit and Procore (preferred)


    LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Operates independently within established procedures and guidelines. Decisions guided by company policies

    and consultation with onshore management.


    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be available during Australian business hours

    • Reliable internet and phone connectivity for seamless communication

    • Commitment to act as an integrated part of the onshore team


    KPIs AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

    • Accuracy of estimates within /- 5% of actual project costs

    • Timely submission of tenders and procurement documents (100% compliance with deadlines)

    • Effective communication: minimum 95% of client and contractor calls responded within 24 hours

    • Maintain updated project schedules with zero overdue tasks

    • Compliance with OHSE Environmental and Quality standards (zero non-conformance reports)

    • Positive feedback from onshore team and clients on professionalism and responsiveness
