QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree from a recognized accredited college or university in journalism or related field;
- Exceptional writing skills;
- Proficiency in DSLR still and video photography preferred;
- Proficiency in managing multiple social media platforms Facebook Twitter Instagram and
- At least three (3) years of public education experience preferred;
- At least three (3) years work experience in news writing editing and photography preferred;
- Computer proficiency in desktop publishingAdobe Photoshop InDesign and Illustrator;
- Demonstrated proficiency on both Macintosh and PC platforms;
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple assignments meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality;
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and organizational skills; and
- Sound judgment and decision-making
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Probationary/Term Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
Pay Grade: $60208 BA-3
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Write press releases and feature stories highlighting programs events honors and staff and student
- Write articles for district publications and website
- Shoot edit produce and distribute photographs and videos for website publications or social media accounts.
- Produce portraits of students employees and board members for displays and publications.
- Handle photo processing and framing for the communication department including coordinating quote process.
- Frequent travel to district campuses and facilities for event
- Regular after-school and weekend event
- Assist local media in obtaining interviews and on-site district
- Use multiple social media networks to enhance district profile including live tweets Instagram posts and stories posting photo albums and updates to Facebook and videos to
- Attend and report on monthly Board
- Responsible for contributing to designated district publications including coordinating printing of selected publications with print center
- Research and gather information for ongoing communication
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Communication and the Assistant Superintendent of Communication and Community Relations.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Frequent districtwide and occasional overnight travel. Frequent outdoor exposure.
