Job Summary

The Role

The Program Officer (Employer Partnerships) will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with inclusive employers recruiters and partner organisations to create meaningful job opportunities for people with disability (PWD) and Paralympians transitioning into employment.

This position will help onboard at least 25 new employers and secure at least 100 new job opportunities for people with disability including Para athletes through the Beyond Sport Employment Pathways Program.

This is a part-time fixed-term contract until 30 Jan 2027. This role until may require occasional morning evening and/or weekend work. This role also offers learning and professional development tailored to the candidates future career goals.

The Person

The role is well-suited to a Paralympian (active or retired) or an individual with lived experience in elite or disability sport who brings authenticity empathy and credibility when engaging with athletes and the broader community. They are passionate about inclusion and empowering others (particularly PWD and Para athletes) and keen to collaborate with athletes member organisations sponsors government and corporate partners.

They are both collaborative and able to work independently inclusive and values-driven they are trustworthy and they have a desire to amplify the Paralympic movements impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with employer partners and recruiters to identify and design inclusive job opportunities.
  • Support employer onboarding including support and delivery of disability confidence training and workplace inclusion workshops.
  • Conduct workplace accessibility and job redesign assessments with employers and recruitment teams.
  • Coordinate and facilitate introductions between candidates and employers ensuring alignment with inclusive employment practices.
  • Support the development of tailored onboarding and mentoring plans for new hires.
  • Work collaboratively with partners such as ASC CPRN Job Access and the Australian Disability Network (ADN) to ensure employers meet accessibility standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of employer engagement and employment outcomes for reporting and evaluation.
  • Contribute to co-design processes and continuous improvement of employer training modules and resources

Key Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience or interest in employer engagement recruitment HR or workforce development preferably within diversity and inclusion contexts.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn about workplace accessibility reasonable adjustments and inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills with the ability to engage senior HR and DEI leaders.
  • Proven ability to meet targets and manage multiple stakeholders and projects concurrently.
  • Commitment to the social and economic empowerment of people with disability.

Education and Training

  • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
  • Lived experience of disability and/or experience working directly with Para athletes or people with disability is desirable.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about government and corporate disability employment programs (e.g. Job Access NDIS DSS).
