SUMMARY: The Wastewater Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the wastewater treatment facility. This will include the training and supervision of staff maintenance of facility housekeeping safety and regulatory compliance of the building grounds and treatment facility. The Wastewater Supervisor will gather and submit samples in compliance with Environment Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. This position will ensure documentation is in place and up to date per Georges policy and local state and federal agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide oversight of wastewater function in the plant.
- Maintain working relationship with state and local agencies as required for wastewater treatment.
- Perform tests as required to treat water properly.
- Train personnel in best practices for keeping water in compliance with city and state requirements.
- Responsible for the continued growth and development of all members of the department ensuring those identified as back-ups for key positions.
- Keep accurate records and ensure documentation is in place and up to date.
- Submit required paperwork to local agencies monthly.
- Gather and submit water samples as required to comply with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
- Ensure safety rules and requirements are followed.
- Supervise cleaning and maintenance of wastewater.
- Participate and conduct wastewater facility third party and regulatory audits.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Required
- 1-2 years of experience in wastewater operations in progressively responsible positions OR Bachelors Degree in a related field
- Class II Wastewater license or ability to obtain an appropriate state certified license within 12 months of employment
- The ability to demonstrate proper working knowledge of biological wastewater treatment systems
- Basic computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Preferred
- Poultry production or manufacturing experience
- Previous Leadership or supervisory experience
