Chemistry Teacher – Derby

We are seeking a motivated knowledgeable and passionate Chemistry Teacher to join a successful and supportive secondary school in Derby starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated science teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons and helping students develop strong analytical and practical skills.

As a Chemistry Teacher you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will inspire curiosity support student progress and contribute to the continued success of the science department.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons in line with the national curriculum

• Teach Chemistry across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-level examinations

• Assess track and monitor student progress effectively

• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners including SEN and EAL

• Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations

• Contribute to curriculum planning and resource development

• Work collaboratively with science colleagues and support staff

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers

• Follow safeguarding health and safety and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

• Have strong subject knowledge in Chemistry

• Have experience teaching Chemistry at secondary level

• Be enthusiastic organised and reflective in their teaching practice

• Have excellent classroom management skills

• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

• Be a collaborative team player
