Contract: Maternity Cover

Salary: MPS/UPS including Outer London Allowance

Teacher of English (maternity cover)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative English teacher with a passion for their subject and a commitment to high quality teaching. Excellent subject knowledge and commitment to continually develop it. Each member of the department is seen as an integral part of the team working together sharing ideas and developing resources cohesively. The successful candidate will have the capacity to bring innovative ideas to the classroom and show a strong record of raising student attainment through their teaching.

The English Department is a strong department that is well respected within our school. The department believe in mixed ability teaching at all levels from KS3 up to KS5. We have a history of strong examination results at GCSE and A Level in both English Language and English Literature. For the past three years the Department has been focusing on developing an innovative KS3 curriculum that prepares pupils for the demands of the strengthened GCSE and broadens their understanding and enjoyment of Literature and Language. To further enrich pupils experience of English we offer a variety of visits and extra-curricular clubs. We pride ourselves on working together as a team planning collaboratively and supporting each other in every aspect of day-to-day teaching and learning.
