About the Opportunity
The Associate Director Infrastructure and Communications is a senior leadership role responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing the delivery of the Universitys enterprise network telephony unified communications video conferencing and audiovisual services. Reporting to the CIO the position leads the Networks and Unified Communications teams ensuring all services are reliable secure resilient and aligned with the Universitys digital strategy.
The role is central to modernising and sustaining the Universitys digital infrastructure supporting teaching research and administrative needs. It involves leading multidisciplinary teams driving continuous improvement and fostering a collaborative servicefocused culture across all communications and network services.
Whats Required
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field or equivalent combination of education and senior leadership experience overseeing complex ICT infrastructure portfolios.
- Deep expertise in enterprise networks unified communications telephony and audio-visual ecosystems including LAN/WAN Wi-Fi collaboration platforms AV systems and cloud connectivity with strong knowledge of emerging trends and their strategic implications.
- Proven experience integrating digital infrastructure into capital works estate planning building design campus redevelopment and relocations ensuring infrastructure aligns with strategic priorities and user needs.
- Advanced capability in enterprise architecture standards development governance frameworks and technology road mapping with demonstrated ability to translate strategic vision into coherent programs and long-term value.
- Strong financial and vendor management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior decision-makers and build trusted partnerships working collaboratively across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven people leadership capability including mentoring leaders coaching teams fostering collaboration and driving performance and professional growth across diverse technical teams.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity risk management and governance frameworks with experience embedding security principles into strategic design investment decisions and operational delivery.
- Strong analytical conceptual and communication skills with the ability to translate technical and strategic objectives into actionable plans articulate long-term value and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
