Job Duties
Work closely with Fine Arts administrators to curate relevant art exhibitions design and administer educational programs. Responsible for developing a strategic plan for the gallery and its growing art collection in alignment with university college and departmental missions and goals. Work closely with university partners on fundraising curriculum development and community visibility initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
KSAs and other competencies required to successfully perform the work:
Curatorial Skills: Ability to curate exhibitions plan coordinate and execute exhibition installations and programs.
Fundraising and Grant Writing: Experience in cultivating donors fundraising and grant writing.
Administrative Skills: strong oral and written communication skills team building and managing working with diverse groups budgeting event planning marketing and publication.
Digital Literacy: Familiarity with digital cataloging systems social media platforms for promoting exhibitions and public engagement.
Partnerships: Foster partnerships with artists curators and community organizations to enhance the gallerys programming and outreach.
Educational Programing: Develop and implement educational and public programs including lectures artist talks workshops and tours that align with the academic and community missions of the university.
Additional Considerations
Education Experience and Licensure Certification required for entry into position
BA BFA MA or MFA degree in Art History Arts Administration Museum Studies Fine Arts/Visual Studies or a related field.
Two years of professional experience in gallery or museum management including experience with exhibitions collections management and educational programming.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MA or MFA degree in Art History Arts Administration Museum Studies Fine Arts/Visual Studies or a related field.
Demonstrated Knowledge of diverse perspectives in global art with interest in African African American artists.
