Summary of Job:
Senior Project Manager to support various projects within the Advanced Optics division. Responsible for leading technical teams managing customer relationships and executing programs from initiation through delivery. Ensures alignment with technical schedule and cost targets while driving program strategy business case development and cross-functional execution.
Must-have/Required skills:
- 5 7 years of experience executing technical programs
- Project management and leadership experience
- Ability to lead technical teams and resolve complex problems
- Strong cross-functional collaboration (commercial technical technology teams)
- Experience managing project schedules budgets and resources
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint Excel Word Project)
- Ability to use project management tools (MS Project risk assessment scope management)
- Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
- Ability to define prioritize and manage milestones
- Strong customer interaction and relationship management skills
- Ability to apply process discipline and program governance
Nice-to-have skills:
- MS degree or higher in Optics
- Experience with program management systems/processes
- Familiarity with innovation processes
- Experience working with research or S&T organizations
- Experience with Stage 3 5 transfer to manufacturing
- SAP or manufacturing environment experience
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Lead technical teams and manage program execution from initiation to delivery
- Define and execute program plans including schedules budgets and resource allocation
- Monitor program progress and recommend continuation or termination based on value
- Manage changes in customer requirements and assess impact on program strategy and risk
- Engage customers throughout program lifecycle and manage scope expectations
- Communicate program direction risks and progress to stakeholders and leadership
- Develop and manage business cases including P&L and value proposition
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial technical and manufacturing outcomes
- Oversee product testing and validation to ensure requirements and differentiation
- Ensure protection of intellectual property and strategic advantages
- Utilize Tollgate process to guide program activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering manufacturing and commercial teams
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Optical Mechanical or related field) preferred
- Associates Degree with significant relevant experience (minimum)
