Description of Work
This position is assigned to the Division of Property and Construction located at the New DHHS Headquarters 1915 Health Services Way Raleigh NC.This position will perform a wide variety of general building maintenance and facility support functions which will include relocation of miscellaneous office furnishings assisting with surplus furniture logistics set-up tables and chairs for special events and staff meetings minor building repairs and painting. Positions assist with routine preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and repairs ensuring that buildings and assigned systems and equipment within the facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. Positions assist higher level trades specialists in the completion of non-routine and complex projects.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities equipment and machinery.
- Utilize appropriate tools and equipment for assigned tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions as required
Work is performed independently; however position may refer unusual work problems to the supervisor for consideration and final determination.
The normal working hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
This position is an essential position that will be required to report to work during periods of adverse weather and/or other emergency situations.

Salary Grande Range: $31200.00 - $53812.00

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Working knowledge of maintenance practices procedures and materials.
Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment necessary for maintenance work.
Ability to perform heavy physical tasks (lifting up to 100 lbs. occasionally 20 lbs. constantly).
Valid North Carolina Drivers License
This Position Is Funded in Part Through Federal Funds.
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
About the DHHS Office of Property & Construction:
The Division of Property and Construction manages the capital assets of the Department supporting 18 state-operated facility campuses with over 7.7 million square feet of building space and 148 leased properties totaling 1.2 million square feet. The division also provides basic maintenance and grounds services for the Governor Morehead School which includes 31 buildings totaling 291000 square feet.
