About the role
As a Therapeutic Specialist Child Youth & Family (CYF) you will play a key coordination and practice leadership role across Life Without Barriers QLD CYF programs.
You will deliver trauma-informed assessment consultation and therapeutic planning for children and young people in Out of Home Care who have experienced complex trauma abuse and/or neglect and in some cases physical and/or psychosocial disability.
You will also strengthen practice capability across care teams through therapeutic supervision reflective practice and specialist guidance ensuring the consistent application of the CARE and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) frameworks.
This is a permanent full-time role with flexibility to work from home anywhere in Queensland. Regular statewide travel is required to support programs and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead therapeutic assessments and planning including PBSPs and ICSPs
Provide specialist consultation to carers staff and leaders
Facilitate reflective practice and trauma-informed responses to behaviour
Support multidisciplinary collaboration and placement stability
Promote ethical evidence-based practice aligned with CARE and TCI
Skills & Experience
A tertiary (degree-level) qualification in Psychology Social Work Occupational Therapy Mental Health Nursing or another clinically relevant discipline
Current or eligible professional registration
Experience working with children and young people in Out of Home Care
Strong trauma-informed assessment and planning capability
Current Drivers Licence
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
