About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) Officer to provide dynamic and immediate support for the delivery of a significant AML/CTF compliance project on a short-term basis.

This is a full-time contract role for an initial 6-week term with potential for extension for up to 3 months.

About the team

The AML/CTF Officer will report to our Chief Transformation Officer and work closely with key stakeholders across the firm including the CEO Practice Heads and AML/CTF project team to ensure that Bartier Perry operates within its risk appetite and is ready for the upcoming AML/CTF legislative obligations as well as industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Play a critical role in the introduction of the Firms AML/CTF regime and all the associated initiatives and outcomes to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with the relevant regulator AUSTRAC and ensure delivery of regulator-ready outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyse regulatory changes and guidance relating to AML/CTF ensuring the Firms policies are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to provide guidance on compliance-related issues.
  • Deliver training programs relating to AML/CTF across the firm.
  • Prepare reports for the Board and senior management key clients and regulatory bodies as required.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5-10 years of demonstrated AML/CTF experience in a similar role preferably in legal or professional services in either Australia United Kingdom or New Zealand.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Risk Management and/or Compliance or Law coupled with litigation experience. The latter is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of risk management compliance and privacy principles.
  • Strong experience in data analysis risk assessment and the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey risk-related information to various stakeholders including senior management and the Board.
  • Prior experience in legal or professional services or a demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these areas.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
