Our client within the Manufacturing Industry is seeking a Machining Manager that is energetic and analytical to oversee activities aimed towards world class manufacturing practices and excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Tertiary education in the field of Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is essential
- A trade certificate in Tool & Die Maker would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies advantageous
WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least 10 years working experience in a Manufacturing environment at a Supervisory or Management level
- At least 7 years work experience in a Machining environment
- Experience in CNC turning and drilling machines essential
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 elements
- Ability to apply problem solving techniques
- Knowledge of Robotics and CNC Automisation essential
Duties & Responsibilities
- Planning and controlling change within the Machine Shop and other specified areas
- Monitoring and analysing the current system of production to check its effective and working out a strategy for improvement
- Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency
- Reviewing operational budget and managing the costs associated
- Generate and display shifts performance against targets
- Analyse various shift performance tracking sheets (OEE) daily communicate discrepancies with Co-ordinators implement actions and monitor improvements
- Track sample built as per the Sample Progress Tracking Sheets and advise manager should risks be identified
- Facilitate and monitor employee training programs & maintain budgeted manning levels in the designated areas
- Drive plant First Time Pass Rate improvements
