Our client within the Manufacturing Industry is seeking a Machining Manager that is energetic and analytical to oversee activities aimed towards world class manufacturing practices and excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Tertiary education in the field of Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is essential

A trade certificate in Tool & Die Maker would be beneficial

Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies advantageous

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 10 years working experience in a Manufacturing environment at a Supervisory or Management level

At least 7 years work experience in a Machining environment

Experience in CNC turning and drilling machines essential

Good understanding of ISO 9001 elements

Ability to apply problem solving techniques

Knowledge of Robotics and CNC Automisation essential

Duties & Responsibilities

Planning and controlling change within the Machine Shop and other specified areas
Monitoring and analysing the current system of production to check its effective and working out a strategy for improvement
Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency
Reviewing operational budget and managing the costs associated
Generate and display shifts performance against targets
Analyse various shift performance tracking sheets (OEE) daily communicate discrepancies with Co-ordinators implement actions and monitor improvements
Track sample built as per the Sample Progress Tracking Sheets and advise manager should risks be identified
Facilitate and monitor employee training programs & maintain budgeted manning levels in the designated areas
Drive plant First Time Pass Rate improvements
