Job Summary
Our client within the Agricultural Sector (Animal Production) is looking to appoint a Laboratory Manager for their branch in Bloemfontein. Excellent opportunity in a world class facility.
- Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Animal Science Genetics or Agribusiness
- At least 7 years relevant experience in commercial livestock and bovine genetics operations
- Proven experience in artificial insemination (AI) embryo transfer (ET) and / or IVF Technologies
- Strong knowledge of cattle genetics breeding values and performance recording systems
- Demonstrated experience in managing large teams and multi-functional agricultural operations
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Valid drivers license
- Lead and manage all station and laboratory operations ensuring efficiency and high production standards
- Oversee and implement genetic improvement and breeding programmes
- Ensure optimal herd health nutrition and biosecurity compliance
- Manage budgets financial planning and operational expenditure
- Supervise develop and lead multi-disciplinary teams
- Oversee laboratory production processes quality control and reporting
- Manage client relationships stakeholder engagement and industry representation
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards and regulations
