Successful candidates may be starting this role in late ApplyFlexible work hours and a 37.5-hour work weekAnnual salary and potential for an annual bonusGenerous employer paid extended benefits including a Registered Pension Plan with matching contributionsAbove average vacation days wellness days and holidaysOpportunities for professional development and career growthA talented diverse and inclusive team doing transformative work on a national scaleRemote and hybrid work opportunities availableWhat You Will DoDevelop relationships with assigned clients that have an approved Financial Administration Law (FAL) to build trust and ultimately prepare for FMS certificationSupport First Nation FAL clients to achieve FMS certification by facilitating empowering motivating and educatingAssist First Nations in promoting the change management principles required to achieve FMS certificationAssist with the development of capacity building resources such as internal control tools and templates webinars tutorials workshops and moreWork with internal and external interest holders to identify and assist with the implementation of leading practice capacity development delivery methodsDevelop relationships with third party contractors external researchers and academic institutions including AFOA Canada for training materialsContinue to work with clients after they achieve FMS certification to provide post-certification supportDeliver presentations and coordinate FMB presence at national and regional conferencesWho You AreA Degree in Finance Accounting Economics or another business-related fieldA professional accounting designation (CPA or CAFM) preferredMinimum of five years of experience in planning and conducting internal or external audits of internal control over financial reporting or similar; and/orplanning monitoring and reporting activities or funding agreementsMust be fluent in English (spoken and written) French an assetKnowledge and understanding of First Nations and Indigenous governments and organizationsKnowledge of First Nations-related intervention policies procedures and practicesAbility to facilitate the review and implementation of approved finance governance human resources and information management policiesAbility to think strategically and creatively and to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to encourage and engage clients to build confidence capacity and desire to ultimately achieve FMS certificationExperience with Microsoft Office Suite including an advanced proficiency with Excel spreadsheetsWilling to travel including to remote locations and able to work outside regular business hoursWhat to ExpectFMB aims to keep the recruitment process as open as possible.
