Greet patients professionally and create a warm welcoming environment
Manage patient check-ins and check-outs
Handle patient queries in person telephonically and via email
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times in line with POPIA
Schedule confirm and manage patient appointments
Manage cancellations and rescheduling efficiently
Coordinate dentist and hygienist diaries to optimise chair time
Send appointment reminders and follow-ups
Maintain accurate patient records and filing systems
Capture patient details on dental practice management systems
Handle medical aid claims quotations and pre-authorisations
Process invoices receipts and daily cash-ups
Assist with month-end administration where required
Verify patient medical aid details and benefits
Submit medical aid claims electronically
Follow up on outstanding payments and rejected claims
Provide patients with clear explanations of accounts and treatment costs
Grade 12
Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist (minimum 2-3 years preferred)
Experience working with dental or medical practice management systems (e.g. GoodX Elixir DentiMax etc.)
Medical aid billing and claims experience
