Job Summary

Takealot Group a leading South African online retailer is looking for a highly talented Assistant Planner to join our team at our Cape Town offices.

This person will assist and support all Planners and Senior Planners with all merchandise planning activities.

Role reports to: Head of Planning

Key responsibilities:(What are you directlyresponsible to achievewithin the scope of yourrole)

Placing supplier orders
Assisting Planners with the following:
Oversee the in-stock function including demandplanning ordering and capacity management inline with department strategy
Deliver accurate insights and reports on a timelybasis on which department managers can basecommercial decisions and deliver on revenueand margin plans
Create sustainable in-stock systems andprocesses in partnership with central analyticstechnical and product teams
Compiling the annual retail sales budgetquarterly plan working plan as well as on-goingforecasting at category and product levels toensure budgets are achieved
Managing end to end inventory availability andinventory health including: improved in-stockrates (availability) inventory planning atcategorisation systematic forecasting markdownand clearance provisions return to supplieractivities and warehouse space management

Financial Planning
Annual retail sales budgets
Quarterly category performance plans
Rolling forecasts at product level
Budget vs. actual variance reports
Financial impact assessments of inventory decisions

Inventory Health Management
In-stock rate metrics and improvement plans
Inventory aging analysis
Markdown and clearance plans
RTV (Return to Vendor) documentation
Warehouse space utilization reports
Obsolete inventory identification reports
Seasonal transition plans

Minimum RequiredQualification & Experience :

  • Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma (CommerceFinance Mathematics or Economics degree preferable)
  • At least 1- 2 year related retail / commerce merchandiseexperience

  • Excel sheets knowledge
