A well-established organisation within the logistics and service parts environment is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Operations to support and drive operational excellence within a high-volume service warehouse based in Midrand. This role requires a hands-on detail-focused individual with strong coordination skills the ability to work under pressure and solid experience in outbound distribution and logistics reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Manage cost control including overtime approvals
- Attend and resolve daily operational queries ensuring feedback within set timelines
- Provide customer support to internal stakeholders across Sub-Saharan Africa
- Oversee Logistics Service Provider (LSP) performance and daily operational reporting
- Register and manage irregular cases on the system within 24 hours
- Analyse daily logistics reports and identify trends risks and improvement areas
- Compile and submit weekly and monthly business intelligence reports
- Manage Goods Receipt (GR) processing and ensure KPI compliance
- Ensure system interface accuracy between warehouse and SAP platforms
- Monitor daily truck arrival times and ensure same-day deliveries are processed timeously
- Manage POD/IOD uploads Parts Arrival Ratio tracking and compliance
- Control and close off Return Delivery Orders (RDOs) within required timelines
- Monitor transit times and ensure returns are processed efficiently
- Manage export deliveries and failed collections escalating where required
- Support inventory control including monthly counts and weekly checks
- Track operational KPIs and follow up on failures to drive improvement
- Prepare quotations for ad hoc customer requests
Minimum Requirements- Matric (Grade 12)
- 13 years experience in a similar logistics / warehouse / distribution environment
- Strong knowledge of outbound distribution procedures
- Working experience with logistics systems (warehouse/logistics platforms)
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel Outlook Word)
- Must be willing and able to work overtime when required
