Job Summary

Position Summary

The Service Shift Manager (Supervisor) is a working leader responsible for overseeing daily shift operations at Theo & Bettys a quickâservice deli and retail concept located in an airport environment. This role supports the Unit Manager by supervising associates ensuring exceptional guest service maintaining operational standards and enforcing company policies as well as all airport and security requirements.

The Service Shift Manager leads by exampleactively performing barista cashier and food preparation duties while coordinating staff coverage addressing guest concerns and ensuring compliance with food safety cash handling and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Leadership & Team Supervision

  • Supervise and support associates during assigned shifts.
  • Assign workstations manage breaks and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide realâtime coaching and direction.
  • Enforce company policies procedures and standards consistently.
  • Escalate performance attendance or conduct concerns to the Unit Manager and HR as appropriate.

Guest Service

  • Lead by example in delivering prompt friendly and professional guest service.
  • Address guest questions concerns or complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure a welcoming clean and organized service environment at all times.

Barista Cashier & Food Service Operations

  • Perform all associateâlevel duties when needed including:
    • Preparing and serving coffee and espresso beverages to standard.
    • Operating POS systems and processing transactions accurately.
    • Preparing madeâtoâorder sandwiches and food items according to brand guidelines.
  • Monitor product quality presentation and portion control.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards.

Operational & Cash Accountability

  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are consistently followed throughout each shift.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures including cash counts cleaning and restocking.
  • Prepare and facilitate daily bank deposits in accordance with company policy.
  • Conduct inventory counts and partner with management to develop action plans for abnormal cost results.
  • Monitor inventory levels and promptly notify management of shortages variances or issues.
  • Ensure equipment is used properly and report maintenance or safety concerns as needed.
  • Monitor revenue levels and make appropriate labor adjustments to control costs during assigned shifts.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to health safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Enforce airport security requirements and access protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of TSA Port of Everett and airport operational standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience in food service coffee shop or hospitality preferred.
  • Strong customer service leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead motivate and hold team members accountable.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastâpaced highâvolume environment.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
  • Flexible schedule availability including early mornings weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to read write and understand English.

Airport Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Paine Field Airport Security Badge.
  • Must successfully pass a TSAâcompliant background check including fingerprinting.
  • Must comply with all Port of Everett and airport security rules and protocols at all times.

Work Environment

This position operates within a secure airport environment and requires frequent interaction with travelers airport staff and team members. The role requires strict adherence to security safety and service standards while managing the demands of a fastâpaced operational setting.
