Your Role

We are seeking a dynamic experienced and passionate educator for the position ofFirst Nations Education Liaison Officer to join the team at Chanel College Gladstone. This is a term time continuing position for 38hpw for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant.

This position is a School Based Education Liaison Officer role with an education component supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the classroom.

TheFirst Nations Education Liaison Officer will service the educational mission of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton by providing support to all aspects of Indigenous doing so advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students together with their families communities teachers and college.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories cultures and spiritualities.
  • An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students their families and school staff to improve educational outcomes through targeted and direct academic support.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
