As a Governance Officer you will play a key role in supporting the organisations governance compliance and internal audit functions. Your responsibilities will include:

We are seeking a Governance Officer who is passionate about integrity complianceassuranceand delivering quality outcomes.
In this role you will support governance frameworks legislative compliance and internal audit processes to ensure transparency and accountability across the organisation. You will bringstrong communicationskills to explain complex concepts clearly collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail. Your ability to think critically solve problems and apply project management principles will be key to driving continuous improvement.
Experience in governance compliance or internal audit along with knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks will set you up for success.

Who we are
The Trusts roles are to support and encourage landholders to enter into agreements to conserve and protect biodiversity on private land guided by the governments Biodiversity Conservation Investment Strategy; secure biodiversity offsets when developers choose to pay into the Biodiversity Conservation Fund; and other activities that promote greater awareness of appreciation and understanding of biodiversity and the importance of conserving it.
We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and are committed toestablishingmeaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
Participation in the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) and the BCTs private land conservation (PLC) programs
The successful applicant for this role willbe requiredto declare any conflict of interests related to the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme as defined in theBiodiversity Offsets Scheme Conflict of Interests Protocol. This ensures the department is made aware of potential conflicts of interest so they can be appropriately managed.
Where an applicant has a high-riskdefined interestin the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme they maybe requiredto divest this interest before being employed by the department.
