The Monash Graduate Research Office (MGRO) supports approximately 6000 graduate research students across all our campuses providing strategic oversight and operational excellence across the full research training lifecycle. As one of the worlds leading research-intensive universities Monash is reimagining its approach to graduate research administration developing a world-class ecosystem supported by a new student management system and enhanced operational processes.

Build the Future.

Reporting to the Executive Director Research Services and working in partnership with the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Researcher Development) you will provide operational and administrative leadership for MGRO during this defining period. You will lead a team of approximately 35 staff building a high-performing culture while guiding them through significant change.

Key areas of influence include:

  • Leading MGRO through a major business transformation including the launch of a new student management system and reimagined business processes
  • Overseeing comprehensive student administration across the complete research lifecycle
  • Building collaborative partnerships across faculties eSolutions and the DVC (Research & Enterprise) portfolio
  • Driving service excellence innovation and data-driven continuous improvement
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and effective stakeholder management

You are an exceptional operational leader with deep expertise in graduate research administration and higher education. You bring proven capabilities in change management business transformation and leading high-performing teams through complex organisational change.
