Position Summary

The LA Conservation Corps After School Program operates extended-day academic and enrichment activities at schools in diverse communities of Los Angeles. Providing services to more than 2500 students daily Program Leaders mentor and offer expanded learning and enrichment opportunities to meet the needs of students parents schools and communities. Reporting to the Program Manager/Coordinator or at times other members of the Management Team Site Supervisors implement programs that serve to provide students with an opportunity for developing educational and life skills to become productive members of the world community.

The LA Conservation Corps is a major sub-contractor of the Los Angeles Unified School Districts Beyond the Bell Branch for providing comprehensive after school programs on District campuses. Each Site Supervisor is responsible for the successful implementation of an academic enrichment program at one of these school sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Implementation

  • Implements high-quality Monday through Friday after school program for up to 200 students depending on the assigned school that connect academic learning and enrichment activities in creative innovative and fun ways to ensure increased academic success for participating students.
  • Builds relationships and collaborates with school stakeholders and partners.
  • Coordinates the recruitment retention and supervision of students.
  • Works closely with school administration and faculty to provide a safe secure and enriching environment for students and staff.

Supervision

  • Supervises motivates directs develops and coordinates a team of Program Leaders and other staff in a demanding fast-paced educational environment.
  • Maintains positive team morale discipline; builds teamwork ethic and cooperation among staff.
    • Conducts and leads weekly team meetings with Staff to ensure that sufficient support and resources are being provided to meet program goals.
  • Ensures adherence to program policies goals and philosophy.

Student and Staff Attendance

  • Creates updates and prints weekly student attendance rosters.
  • Creates updates and prints weekly staff attendance rosters.

Technology

    • Utilizes Corps issued electronics.
    • Knowledgeable about Microsoft applications including but not limited to Outlook Teams Excel Word and Publisher.
    • Enrolls and updates students and their groups in the Beyond The Bell Application (BTB App).
    • Assists staff in requesting user roles for BTB App.
    • Ensures that web timecards are accurately completed by assigned due date.

Communication and Compliance:

  • Reports to Program Manager/Coordinator.
  • Prepares written and oral reports.
  • Communicates daily with Program Manager/Coordinator of all things throughout the day.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

Required Education And Experience

  • Minimum two years college level credits ( Associates or Bachelors Degree desirable) or two years experience working in after school program setting.
  • Minimum one year adult supervisory experience.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Experience in after school programs.

Other Duties and Requirements

  • Responsible reliable dependable organized and professional.

Supervisory Responsibility

This is a non-exempt position that does not have supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This position operates in multiple environment settings including but not limited to a professional office environment and remotely from the employees home. The office setting role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. Specific vision requirements of the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
