The Commercial Performance Director reporting to the Head of Commercial Performance with a dotted line to the Executive General Manager Operations is a key leadership role responsible for driving commercial performance and providing strategic support to the business. This role bridges financial management and business operations to enable delivery of Squadron Energy Services business portfolios of strategic programs.
The role partners with the business unit to deliver financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations that drive optimal business outcomes. The position demands strong leadership to influence decisions and align commercial strategies with customer needs and enterprise value creation.
The Commercial Performance Director will work closely with the business unit team and broader business stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of their business unit plan facilitating the delivery of strategic initiatives.
Implement robust performance management frameworks for the business unit to deliver measurable business value efficiency gains and growth including:
Coordinate business unit planning and annual budgeting activities
Challenge non-strategic spending and prioritise investments that generate long-term returns
Track and analyse financial performance and cash flow explaining variances and drive corrective actions
Provide commercial insight by co-developing business cases evaluating pricing risk margin and ROI for projects and products
Influence decisions early in the process acting as a strategic advisor rather than a gatekeeper
Develop and execute a structured program roadmap for the business unit strategic initiatives
Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams across technology operations finance legal and customer
Manage for alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements
Manage for alignment with third party commitments
Monitor progress identify risks and opportunities (including resourcing change management and technology integration) and implement mitigation strategies
Facilitate prioritisation project initiation and recovery to maintain alignment with strategic goals
Identify opportunities to streamline processes enhance efficiency and improve business outcomes
Establish formal governance forums and facilitate collaboration to drive alignment across business unit and its stakeholders
Facilitate executive updates board-level reporting and strategic briefings to the wider business
Minimum of 5 years experience in consulting our other similar business advisory roles
Minimum of 3 years experience in delivery of transformational programs with regulatory oversight
Minimum of 10 years experience in progressive leadership roles
Commercial and analytical expertise with deep financial knowledge and strong business acumen
Strategic mindset anticipating market trends and shaping long-term plans
Change leadership reframing risk as opportunity and fostering innovation
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
Mentoring and development of junior team members
Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills including liaison and negotiation skills
Strategic Mindset: Ability to link financial decisions to organisational goals
Expertise in financial modelling forecasting and strategic analysis
High-level organisation skills including well-developed priority-setting skills and the ability to meet deadlines
