Job Summary

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with production and maintenance staff to coordinate timely safe and efficient repair and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
  • Demonstrate a full commitment to safety and environmental processes and programs including labor relations and company policies.
  • Supervise and lead development of direct reports and union employees toward implementation of a self-directed and reliability-focused organization.
  • Ensure full utilization of work methods to drive continuous improvement of operational efficiency cost improvements and equipment reliability.
  • Work with appropriate operations maintenance engineering and support staff to prioritize work and develop long-term capital and strategic-improvement plans.
  • Provide technical assistance to production and/or maintenance employees; ensure use of sound preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor area maintenance budget including compliance with financial controls.
  • Prepare reports analyze data and make recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee business activities in your areas of responsibility; directly supervises salaried Assistant Superintendents and day Supervisors.
  • Develop your organization to ensure long and short term goals and objectives are met.
  • Transfer knowledge to salaried staff and prepare them for future advancement opportunities.


Qualifications

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient at managing scheduling and training multi-functional teams in a union environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve desired results and lead organization change while adhering to stated Company values.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities to meet short and long-term objectives.
  • Outstanding communication skills makes effective presentations and can quickly build trust and respect.
  • Proficient in MS Office software (including MS Project) with a working knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Highly organized and uses efficient work methods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • May be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to high precarious places fumes or airborne particles; vibrations.
