DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with production and maintenance staff to coordinate timely safe and efficient repair and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
- Demonstrate a full commitment to safety and environmental processes and programs including labor relations and company policies.
- Supervise and lead development of direct reports and union employees toward implementation of a self-directed and reliability-focused organization.
- Ensure full utilization of work methods to drive continuous improvement of operational efficiency cost improvements and equipment reliability.
- Work with appropriate operations maintenance engineering and support staff to prioritize work and develop long-term capital and strategic-improvement plans.
- Provide technical assistance to production and/or maintenance employees; ensure use of sound preventative maintenance procedures.
- Monitor area maintenance budget including compliance with financial controls.
- Prepare reports analyze data and make recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee business activities in your areas of responsibility; directly supervises salaried Assistant Superintendents and day Supervisors.
- Develop your organization to ensure long and short term goals and objectives are met.
- Transfer knowledge to salaried staff and prepare them for future advancement opportunities.
QualificationsSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficient at managing scheduling and training multi-functional teams in a union environment.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve desired results and lead organization change while adhering to stated Company values.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities to meet short and long-term objectives.
- Outstanding communication skills makes effective presentations and can quickly build trust and respect.
- Proficient in MS Office software (including MS Project) with a working knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
- Highly organized and uses efficient work methods.
