A logistics-focused organization is seeking an Account Manager to own and grow an active book of freight business. This role is responsible for end-to-end customer relationship management service execution retention and account expansion. Success comes from protecting margin preventing service failures and delivering consistent high-touch service.
This is not an order-taking role. It is a relationship and execution role with real ownership and accountability.
Build long-term customer relationships through consistent execution and proactive communication.
Lead weekly or monthly check-ins lane reviews and performance discussions.
Own service recovery and customer escalations including late pickups OS and D claims and execution issues.
Ensure compliance with customer SOPs appointment requirements and documentation standards.
Improve margin through lane optimization carrier strategy and service consistency.
Partner with sales leadership on account expansion renewals and contract support.
Maintain accurate documentation in CRM and TMS systems.
Support QBRs and strategic account planning initiatives.
Required Skills:
7 plus years of experience in freight brokerage 3PL logistics account management or carrier sales. Strong understanding of truckload freight including dry van reefer and flatbed. Experience managing shipper accounts and supporting day-to-day freight execution. Strong negotiation skills with customers and internal operations teams. Ability to stay composed under pressure and resolve escalations effectively. Highly organized with disciplined follow-through and clear communication.
