Job Summary

The Sr Project Manager at McKesson Medical-Surgical Inc. will lead complex high-impact technology projects from initiation to closure ensuring successful delivery within scope schedule and budget. This role involves collaborating with the Product Management team along with cross-functional stakeholder groups managing their expectations and driving strategic initiatives to enhance our medical-surgical distribution and healthcare solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for multiple concurrent complex projects including planning execution monitoring and closing utilizing established project management methodologies (e.g. SAFe Agile).
• Define project scope goals deliverables and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management.
• Develop comprehensive project plans including detailed schedules budgets risk management strategies and communication plans.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members stakeholders and external vendors.
• Proactively identify track and mitigate project risks and issues escalating to senior leadership as appropriate.
• Monitor project progress performance and financial metrics preparing and presenting regular status reports to key stakeholders.
• Manage changes to project scope schedule and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
• Ensure projects adhere to organizational standards policies and regulatory requirements (e.g. HIPAA FDA ISO).
• Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior project managers and team members.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of project management best practices and tools within the organization.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Information Technology or a related field. PMP certification is strongly preferred. Agile certifications (e.g. CSM SAFe) are a plus.
• 7 years of progressive experience in project management with at least 3 years managing complex projects within a large organization preferably in the healthcare medical device or distribution industries.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with project management software (e.g. Microsoft Project Jira Asana ServiceNow PPM).
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile Waterfall Hybrid).
• Experience with risk management budget management and resource allocation.
• Familiarity with change management principles.
• Excellent leadership communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
