This position serves as the Supervisory Supply Technician (Medical) for the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas of Logistics Service within the VA Health Care System. As a Supervisory Supply Technician you will ensure that supplies and material are distributed to all areas serviced by Logistics by directing supervising and managing the primary inventory point that receives stores and issues supplies and materials for both clinical and administrative service areas of the medical center.

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position you must meet the following:
One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of this Supervisory Supply Technician (Medical) position. Specialized experience includes: planning and coordinating work to be accomplished by other staff; establishing priorities for a department; overseeing the receipt and distribution of supplies and materials for a complex medical center; maintaining stock at inventory locations; monitors expiration dates; ensure supplies are delivered timely; training new employees and answering questions on local processes and procedures; ensuring proper storage of supplies and materials; resolving problems and providing guidance to others on logistics activities; and making recommendations on improvement of wok production and quality of work.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
