Job Summary

As aSenior Technician (Electrical)you will be responsible for conducting a variety of maintenance activities (e.g. PMs breakdowns repairs rebuilding etc.) to optimize plant equipment and support the production of quality chemical intermediates energies and finished products to a pre determined operations plan. Performs specialized predictive and preventive maintenance equipment inspections; and troubleshoots plans and installs and / or modifies plant equipment and related systems in accordance with Key Performance Measure Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) safety/regulatory requirements and divisional goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fill out and review Permit Cliqs (work permits) in conjunction with operation personnel prior to starting a job.
  • Ensure all lockout - tagout procedures are followed
  • Locate equipment problem and discuss potential causes.
  • Recommend practical solutions of technical problems.
  • Diagnose problems and repair VFDs PLCs motors with associated controls protective devices breakers fuses overloads relays conduit & cable transmitter calibration controllers switches and metrology.
  • Trouble shoot assess inspect adjust and make repairs as needed to facility flow pressure temperature and level instrumentation. It includes transmitter flow devices level controls temperature measurement.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks which include but are not limited to routine calibration thermography and ultrasonic testing
  • Other duties assigned by Freeport leadership.

You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years maintenance-related experience required.
  • Must be available to work weekends overtime (including coverage and standby) and holidays as required. Must be able to function/cross train in primary craft.
  • Knowledge and skill experience to diagnose problems and repair VFDs PLCs 480V 3 phase motors with associated controls knowledge of protective devices breakers fuses overloads relays conduit & cable transmitter calibration controllers switches MCC buckets and metrology.
