We are seeking a passionate experienced and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Chelmsford starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons that challenge and inspire pupils academically socially and emotionally in Upper Key Stage 2.

The Role
As a Year 5 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will foster independence resilience and a love of learning while ensuring all pupils make excellent progress. Working closely with teaching assistants colleagues and parents you will provide personalised support for each pupil and monitor their academic social and emotional development.
Your role will include preparing pupils for the transition to Year 6 delivering differentiated learning experiences and providing targeted interventions where needed. You will also contribute to school enrichment activities and participate in whole-school initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
Deliver engaging literacy numeracy and foundation subject lessons
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL
Promote independence confidence and positive learning behaviours
Maintain a structured inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives
Support enrichment activities school events and extra-curricular opportunities
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 5
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work effectively as part of a professional and supportive team
