We are seeking a patient empathetic and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Chelmsford starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs providing personalised assistance and helping them achieve academic social and emotional progress.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos and works closely with families colleagues and external professionals to provide tailored support for pupils. Staff collaborate to ensure each child receives guidance and resources needed to reach their full potential. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will work closely with a pupil who has specific learning needs delivering personalised support in lessons and during activities. You will assist in implementing individual learning plans monitor progress and help the pupil develop independence confidence and positive behaviour. You will also collaborate with teachers the SENCo and parents to ensure consistent and effective support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personalised one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs
Assist in implementing individual learning plans and EHCP targets
Support the pupil academically socially and emotionally
Promote independence confidence and positive learning behaviours
Help the pupil access lessons and participate fully in classroom activities
Observe monitor and record pupil progress accurately
Collaborate with the class teacher SENCo and other support staff
Liaise with parents carers and external professionals as required
Maintain a safe structured and inclusive learning environment
Support the pupil during transitions break times and structured activities
Attend staff meetings training and CPD sessions
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
