POSITION: The Fine Arts Division of Bethany College invites applications for tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Art to begin Fall 2026. RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS: The position includes a 24-credit annual teaching load. Successful candidates will teach the art history sequencing courses courses in the 2D area.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to the continuous collection of materials for curriculum assessment and providing academic advising to students. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to student recruitment efforts which may include actively participating in recruitment events and building relationships with local high schools and community organizations. The successful candidate will also engage with the local arts community and foster connections that support the program and the college.

QUALIFICATIONS: In-process or completed MA or MFA in 2D Art Practice or MA/MS in Art History with demonstrated art practice is required. Industry experience is a plus. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines.
SALARY: Contingent upon experience.
DIVISION: The Art program within the Fine Arts Division at Bethany College currently offers the B.A. in Pre-Professional Art Therapy Studio Art Studio Art with a Graphic Design Focus and Visual Art addition it supports the Secondary Education in Art major.
