Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a motivated and experienced Database Engineer to join our dynamic ATLAS systems team for Space Domain projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to mission-critical applications. You will be part of a highly skilled engineering team dedicated to delivering innovative features software upgrades and system integrations that meet customer and mission-specific requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team using Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum Kanban) supporting the delivery of high-quality software solutions for government systems.
• Strong command of SQL and experience administering and developing relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) as well as NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).
• Advanced knowledge of database security backup and recovery and performance monitoring standards
• Optimize database performance and conduct system tuning.
• Diagnose and resolve database errors and performance issues.
• Provide on-site support and monitoring for classified systems ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Offer 24/7 on-call support to address urgent issues.
• Develop upgrade and troubleshoot mission-specific database updates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Qualifications:

• Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
• Bachelors degree in computer science Software Engineering or a related discipline and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
• Experience in database administration information technology database architecture or a related field.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with relational and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience in Agile Software Development processes and methodologies such as SAFe Scrum or Kanban.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred.
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Extensive experience with database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL Oracle).
• Experience in maintaining production-level systems.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS Microsoft Azure).
• DoD 8570 compliant CompTIA Security certification.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in Colorado and New York State is $117000 - $218000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire schedule type and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
