This contract position requires an on-site presence offering a unique opportunity to contribute to patient care in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
As a Locum PA you will play a vital role in assisting orthopedic surgeons with patient evaluations treatment plans and post-operative care. Your expertise will help ensure the highest standards of medical care are maintained benefiting our diverse patient population.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the evaluation and management of orthopedic patients
- Conduct physical examinations and document patient histories
- Participate in surgical procedures under the supervision of orthopedic surgeons
- Provide post-operative care and patient education
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care as necessary
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Participate in patient rounds and consultations
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Physician Assistant studies
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Experience in orthopedic surgery preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Clinic coverage (no back surgery)
Schedule: 4 days per week primary call 1:4 Monday-Thursday weekend coverage
Daily volume: 15-20 patients with general orthopedic symptoms
EMR: Meditech Expanse
Procedures: Knee injections shoulder injections and reductions required
Minimal OR exposure with occasional surgical assists
Paid travel & expenses
