Job Summary

Oaks Auckland Hotel are looking for an experienced and passionate Demi Chef to oversee the kitchen operations at :DASH on a part-time basis.

Reimagined for Aucklands dynamic dining scene :DASH is more than a venue its a movement. Fast fun flavourful and full of intent its where pace meets personality and every service runs on rhythm. Within a few blocks youll find plenty of places doing the basics right but were the ones with a story. A story about simple bold food done brilliantly served with purpose and delivered by a team that loves what they do.

The menu moves at guest speed grab a coffee share a Caesar or settle in for sliders skewers and a craft beer before the show. Every dish is built for flow flavour and consistency the fundamentals done right every time.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
  • Assist in the development and plating of high-quality meals.
  • Maintain cleanliness organisation and compliance with food safety hygiene and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
  • Support and mentor junior kitchen staff where required.
  • Contribute to menu planning recipe development and kitchen efficiency improvements.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Part-time position
  • Minimum 20 hour per week
  • Immediate start available

Qualifications :

Were not chasing fine dining or trends; were about attitude energy and execution. If you thrive in a fast-paced people-first environment and love the buzz of a busy service youll fit right in.

  • Previous experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
  • Formal culinary qualification.
  • Ability to manage your own section confidently maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Understanding of HACCP OH&S and kitchen hygiene requirements.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Positive proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
  • Flexibility to work across a range of shifts including weekends and public holidays.
