Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen assisting with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections of the kitchen.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness organisation and compliance with food safety hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Take initiative to develop culinary skills and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
- Support and coach less experienced kitchen team members when required.

Our recently refurbished property introduces a sophisticated dining and bar experience showcasing panoramic views over Lake Wakatipu.
- Newly refurbished upscale hotel food and beverage operation
- Curated wine cellar featuring some of New Zealands finest wines
- Seasonal menu by Chef Gerhard Gerber focused on seasonal New Zealand seafood meats and produce
Shift Details (subject to change):
- Full time position
- AM and PM shifts
- Split shifts may be required on some days

Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant cookery qualification (or international equivalent) and previous experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of food safety hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team-oriented kitchen environment.
- Flexibility to work across a range of shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently when required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
